Man Rescued By Skerries RNLI

Volunteers from Skerries RNLI have rescued a man who was spotted in trouble in the water at a local harbour.

It is understood that helm David Knight and crew member Stephen Crowley had just returned to the harbour in Mr Crowley's personal boat, and were walking to the lifeboat station when they spotted the man in the water.

They managed to get a rope around the man and help him onto the side of their boat before bringing him to shore.

Skerries RNLI spokesperson said: "Fortunately our volunteers were on hand almost instantly. It is important to remember that whatever your activity, wearing a well-fitted, and suitable lifejacket or buoyancy aid, could save your life."
