Government Faces Questions Over Siteserv - Adams
Gerry Adams has stated the Irish government "has been involved in a cover up" over the emerging Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC) Siteserv scandal.
Mr Adams said: "Since 2012, Sinn Féin's Pearse Doherty has raised queries regarding the various deals which saw debt write downs of debt by IBRC.
"When he asked how much IBRC had written off in debt forgiveness, he was consistently told that the overall total was commercially sensitive."
It is understood that in the month before IBRC started receiving bids for the Siteserv company there was a large surge in share activity.
Mr Adams added: "This obviously raises very serious questions for the Government.
"The Taoiseach's response to this scandal has served to make the situation worse and to cause further concern among citizens. His response has been to deny all knowledge of these issue.
Mr Adams continued by saying the Taoiseach, Enda Kennedy, has the opportunity to redeem himself by establishing a Commission of Investigation.
