Thousands Line Streets For Removal Of Karen Buckley

Thousands of people turned out in Mallow, Co Cork, for the removal of the body of Karen Buckley.

Ms Buckley, who was brought back to Ireland from Glasgow by her family on Monday, was removed to her parish church at Annaleentha in Mourneabbey.

Her funeral is to be held today.

Police Scotland's Detective Inspector Alan Button, who is leading the investigation into her murder, was in attendance on Monday night and is expected to attend the funeral at 14:00 today.

Funeral Held For Christine Buckley
The funeral has taken place of Aislinn Centre co-founder and campaigner Christine Buckley, who died on Tuesday aged 67. Up to 1,000 mourners joined President Michael D Higgins, Archbishop Diarmuid Martin and Minister for Health James Reilly for today's funeral mass, which was described as a "celebration of her legacy".

Family Bring Home Body Of Karen Buckley
The body of Karen Buckley, a student from Cork found murdered in Glasgow, has been returned to Cork. Ms Buckley's body was brought home by her parents on a special Aer Lingus/Stobart Air flight from Glasgow today. Her funeral is to be held in the north Cork village of Mourneabbey on Tuesday.

Karen Buckley's Murderer Alexander Pacteau Jailed For Life
A man found guilty of murdering student Karen Buckley has been jailed for life. Ms Buckley, 24, who was originally from Cork, went missing in Glasgow after a night out with friends. Her body was found on a farm four days later. Alexander Pacteau, 21, killed the student shortly after meeting her outside a nightclub in April of this year.
