Investigation Launches Into Fatal House Fire
Gardaí are investigating the cause of a house fire in Stoneybatter on Sunday that killed a 53-year-old man and left a 90-year-old woman in hospital.
According to reports a relative was alerted to the situation at the house when the elderly woman activated her Medi Alert panic button.
Firefighters entered the house, rescuing the man and woman from the burning building.
The man, believed to be a live-in-carer, was pronounced dead at the scene, but the elderly woman was revived by paramedics.
She is said to be in a stable condition in hospital.
Gardaí have said that the fire is "not necessarily being treated as suspicious" gardaí are assessing all avenues of inquiry.

Woman Dies In House Fire In Co Clare
A woman has died in a house fire in Co Clare. The victim, in her 50s, was alone at the property in Derrynavaha, Craggah, when the fire started at around 7pm on Sunday night. Gardai are currently investigating the incident.

Woman Charged Over Suspicious House Fire
A woman has been charged in relation to a suspicious house fire in Co Louth last year. Following an investigation into the blaze, which occurred at Cork Street in Drogheda on 16 August last year, gardaí confirmed a 27-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the incident. A woman, aged 73, was seriously injured in the fire in 2014.

Body Found In Search For Missing Woman
Gardaí investigating the disappearance of Pamela Kenny have confirmed they have found a body. Ms Kenny, 52, was last seen in Delwood, Castleknock, on Monday (2 March) at around 10.30am. An appeal was launched into her whereabouts. Gardaí have since confirmed the body is that of Ms Kenny.

A 44-year-old man died in the blaze which happened at a property on Oakland's Terrace, Rathgar, at around 3am on Tuesday, 21 August. It is understood the man had escaped from the fire before returning inside and suffered critical injuries.
