Storage Unit Fire Burns For 24 Hours
A fire at a storage unit at Ballymount Industrial Estate on Dublin's southside has been extinguished around 24 hours after it started.
Emergency services were called to the Store It facility at about 10am on Wednesday morning.
According to reports "strong winds" had made the fire difficult to get under control, but it is understood that firefighters managed to contain the blaze to one and a half buildings at the estate.
Two units and a number of firefighters are to remain at the scene "dampening down" the building for the rest of the day.
There have been no reports of any injuries.

Dublin Street Closed In Chemical Incident
Granby Row in Dublin has been re-opened following a chemical incident at a Salvation Army Centre. According to reports chemicals were mixed and gave off fumes at the centre in Dublin's city centre. No one was injured in the incident. Three fire engines and a decontamination unit attended the scene, which has now been dealt with.

Gardaí Investigate Fire At Water Meter Storage Unit
Gardaí have launched an investigation into a fire at an Irish Water facility in Sligo. Sligo Fire Brigade were called to the facility, which is understood to house water meters, at Union Place, at about 06:05 on Monday morning. Gardaí have said a forensic examination has been carried and they are treating the fire as suspicious.

Dublin Fire Brigade has revealed it responded to 1,100 emergency calls during Halloween night. On what is normally the service's busiest night of the year, there were also reports of attacks on fire crews while Dublin Bus was forced to withdraw its service in part of the city.
