Govt Introduces New Industrial Regulations
New industrial regulations to support low-paid workers and strengthen workers' rights have been introduced by the Government.
Labour TD Eric Byrne welcomed the news.
Mr Byrne said: "The new laws published today proves we are delivering on that ambition, and I must commend Minister Ged Nash for his tenacity in seeing this particular project through, as part of his Dignity At Work agenda.
"I am especially glad to see laws on collective bargaining on the table, as it means that workers can now be confident that they have an effective system that protects and promotes their rights.
"It now means that, with the assistance of a trade union, workers can fight their corner in terms of remuneration, terms and conditions, and have these determined based on comparisons with other companies."
