Man Arrested Over Attack In County Clare

A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an assault on a man in County Clare on Sunday.

The attack occurred at Coor East Doonogan, Miltown Malbay, at around 4.30pm.

The injured man received a number of lacerations and was taken to University College Hospital Galway, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

During the investigation, Gardaí discovered cannabis plants with an estimated value of €124,000, pending analysis, at a premises which had been damaged by fire during the incident.

The man is currently detained at Kilrush Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal justice Act, 1984. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

A 25-year-old man who was missing from Harcourt Street in Dublin has been found safe and well, Gardaí have reported. Simon Quinn was reported missing after last being seen at around 2.30am on Monday, 30 July. However, Mr Quinn has now been found and Gardaí said they wish to thank the media and public for their assistance.

Missing Cork Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
