Truck Fire Causes Major Delays On M6

Motorists have been warned of delays on the M6 following a truck fire on Friday morning.

According to reports a truck caught fire on the M6 near Moate, on the Galway to Dublin road at about 10am this morning.

It is understood that thick black smoke coming from the burning truck had reduced road visibility on both sides of the road.

A diversion has been put in place at Junction 7.

Anyone travelling on the road is told to expect delays as emergency services remain at the scene.

Major Delays Expected On M50 After Truck Overturns
Motorists are being urged to expect major delays on the M50 after a truck overturned on a slip road. The driver of the truck has been taken to hospital, however his condition is unknown. The truck is in the process of being righted, according to Gardaí, however the slip road remains blocked.

Woman Killed After Collision With Truck
A driver has been killed after her car was in collision with an articulated truck. Gardaí are investigating the fatal road traffic collision on the N24 about 2km from Kilsheelan in Coounty Tipperary, at about 9.50pm yesterday. The woman, who is in her 20s, was killed when the car she was driving was in collision with an articulated truck.

Port Tunnel Shut
The Dublin Port Tunnel was temporarily closed to all traffic after a truck caught fire in the facility this afternoon. The normal HGV ban for traffic in the city centre was lifted shortly after the closure, which happened at around 12.30pm. The emergency services were at the scene this afternoon, but no injuries have been reported.

Fire On M50 Causing Major Traffic Delays
A burning truck on the northbound M50 is causing major delays, gardaí have reported. It is understood that a truck has caught fire on the road causing a major disruption to traffic along the stretch of the M50 before the Palmerstown exit. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

Witnesses Sought Following Fatal Road Accident In Co Louth
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road accident in Collon, Co Louth. The single vehicle road accident happened at about 1am on Tuesday morning close to Brannigan's Cross on the Collon to Tinure Road. A 32-year-old man, the sole occupant of the car, suffered serious injuries when his car left the road and struck a ditch.
