Man Arrested Over 2011 Tipperary Murder

Gardaí investigating the murder of Bobby Ryan in Tipperary in June 2011 have arrested a man.

Mr Ryan was reported missing on 03 June, 2011, having been last seen at Fawnagown, Tipperary.

His body wasn't discovered until April 2013, when it was found on farmland.

No more information on the suspect has been released, however he is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Man Charged With The Murder Of Bobby Ryan
A 49-year-old man is due to appear before Tipperary District Court charged in connection with the murder of Bobby Ryan. Father-of-two Bobby Ryan of Boherlahan, Cashel, Co Tipperary was reported missing to Tipperary Town Gardaí on 3 June 2011. His remains were found concealed in an underground concrete tank on a farm at Fawnagowan, on 30 April 2013.

Minister Announces Re-Opening Of Poultry Welfare Scheme
The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney, has announced the re-opening of the Poultry Welfare Scheme for new applications. The Minister stated that the revised closing date for receipt of applications under the Scheme will now be Friday, 12 August 2011.

Appeal Issued For Missing Tipperary Man
Gardaí have appealed for help in tracing missing Tipperary man John Esmonde. The 38-year-old has been missing since around 22:00 on Wednesday 11 March. When last seen he was wearing a dark jacket, blue denim trousers and a black woollen hat. He is believed to have been carrying a brown shopping bag.

Speaking at the opening event, the Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Shane McEntee, highlighted the important role that Agricultural shows can play within Irish communities.

Farmer Jailed For Life For Murdering Law Student
A farmer from Co Clare has been jailed for life after he brutally murdered a student. Joe Heffernan, 33, of Cappagh Beg, pleaded not guilty to murdering Eoin Ryan, 21, on his farm in June 2011. A majority of jurors found him guilty. The law student was beaten to death and died of severe head injuries.
