Appeal Issued For Missing Co Cork Man

Gardaí have issued an appeal for help in tracing 24-year-old Brian Kidd who has been missing for almost a week.

Mr Kidd was last seen at his home in Fermoy on 18 June.

He is described as being 5' 6'' with dark brown hair and blue eyes.

Garda do not know what Mr Kidd was wearing when he was last seen.

It is believed that he may have travelled to Dublin city.

Anyone with any information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Garda Confidential line on 1800-666111 or any garda station.

Garda Renew Appeal Over Det Garda Donohoe Murder
Gardaí are to make a fresh appeal for information about the death of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe, who was shot and killed outside Lordship Credit Union in Bellurgan, Co Louth on 25 January last year. Donohoe and a colleague were attacked by an armed gang as they waited outside the credit union to escort staff and takings to a bank.

Taoiseach Makes Garda Commitments Following O'Higgins Report Publication
The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has committed to increase garda numbers to 15,000, double the number of garda reserve officers and increase the number of civilian workers in An Garda Síochána to free up officers for frontline policing. The Taoiseach made his comments in a statement addressing the newly published O'Higgins Commission Report.
