Five Held Over Suspicious Death In Co Cork
Five men have been arrested in connection with the death of Peter Murphy in Co Cork in February.
Garda believe that the suspicious death of Mr Murphy at his home in Shanavhoer, Bweeng, may have been drug related.
The men, aged in their 20s and 30s, are being held under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act which allows gardaí detain suspects involved in organised crime for up to seven days.

Death Toll Fear From New 'Dr Death' Ecstasy
Following the deaths of two young graduates, Gardaí are warning that a lethal new 'Doctor Death' ecstasy mix could cause more deaths. A joint Gardaí and HSE alert was issued after it became clear that a consignment of the powdered substance was for sale on the streets of Cork.

Fine Gael's Dara Murphy has resigned from his seat in the Dáil Éireann. In a statement released on Tuesday night, Mr Murphy said he would be taking up a new role in the European Commission. The former Cork North Central TD also informed the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar on Tuesday evening.

Gardai Appeal For Information Into Death Of Man In Cork
Gardai are appealing for information into the death of a man in Co. Cork. The body of Peter Murphy, 37 years old, was discovered at his home at Shanavoher, Bweeng, Co. Cork on 7 February 2015. A post mortem examination carried out at Cork University Hospital established that Mr Murphy's injuries were inflicted as the result of an assault.

Another Death Blights Roads
Gardaí at Finglas were yesterday investigating one of the latest fatal road traffic collisions to hit the country's roads. This time it involved two cars and occurred at a junction between the Texaco Garage, Coolquay and the White House Public House on the N2, North Road Finglas. It happened at 12.40pm on Monday.

GAA Player Dies In Training
A young GAA player has collapsed during training and died in a suspected case of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS). Ciaran Carr, 20, from Clondalkin, Co Dublin, died as he was training with his local Round Towers GAA Club on Friday evening. He was participating in an indoor circuit training session when he suddenly fell forward and collapsed.
