Co Waterford Man Dies In Thailand

A 24-year-old man from Co Waterford has reportedly died in a drowning incident in Thailand.

The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed that an Irishman identified as David Houlihan from the Dungarvan area, died following an "incident".

A full investigation into the cause of Mr Houlihan's death is underway.

Two independent investigations have been launched following the death of a 59-year-old man in a workplace accident. The man died following an incident on a building site in Midleton, Co Cork, at approximately 12:49pm on Monday, 08 August, at St Coleman's Community College.

Man Killed In Westmeath Crash Named
A 23-year-old man who died following a road crash in Co Westmeath has been named as Dan Hynes, from Tulsk, Co Roscommon. Mr Hynes was a passenger in a van, which struck a jeep on the Mullingar Road in Delvin around 7am on Tuesday morning. He was taken to hospital, but died later from his injuries.

Agricultural Remembrance Service Held In Co Laois
A remembrance service for victims who lost their lives in agricultural-related accidents has been held in Co Laois. The service, organised by Embrace FARM, took place at the Holy Rosary Church in Abbeyleix at 2pm on 28 June. Embrace FARM was founded last year by Brian Rohan who father died following an accident on the family farm in 2012.

Woman, 82, Dies In Road Accident
An 82-year-old woman has died following a road accident in Donegal. The crash occurred at around 3.50pm on Monday (18 August) at The Ross in Bundoran. Gardaí have said a car collided with a fence in the incident. The woman was transferred to Sligo Hospital but later died from her injuries. Anyone with information is asked to contact Gardaí.

Man Dies In Fall At Sligo Hotel
Gardaí in Sligo have reported the death of a 28-year-old man after a fall from a railing on Quay Street. The man is thought to have been trying to access Sligo City Hotel at about 01:45 when he fell, sustaining serious head injuries. It is understood that a woman was also injured in the incident.
