Expulsion Of Cllr McCarthy Temporarily Lifted

Sinn Fein has temporarily lifted the expulsion of Cork Councillor Kieran McCarthy.

Mr McCarthy was expelled from the party in June.

Sinn Fein said this was to allow him a further opportunity to assist the party in its investigation of financial irregularities in the accounts of Cobh Cumann, which is on-going.

Mr McCarthy denies any wrongdoing.

Cllr Melissa Mullane's request for an appeal into her suspension has also been granted by the Ard Chomhairle.
