Investigation Launched Into Fatal Farm Accident

A 19-year-old man has been fatally injured in an industrial accident on a Co Monaghan farm.

An investigation has been launched into the incident which happened on a farm in Castleross, near Carrickmacross at about 09:00 on Wednesday morning.

The man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A Health and Safety Authority investigation is underway.

Investigation Launched Into Baler Accident Death

Man's Body Discovered At Cork Farm
An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man's body in Cork this morning. At about 7am the body of a 29-year-old man was found at a farm house in Shanavagoon, Ladysbridge, Co Cork. According to reports the man had suffered a "number of injuries".

Investigation Launches Into Death On Co Wexford Farm
Gardaí in Co Wexford have launched an investigation into the death of a man on his farm near Ballywilliam. It is understood the body of a 42-year-old man was found in a shed on the farm site early on Monday morning. The scene has been sealed pending a forensic examination. A post-mortem will be carried out later.

A new campaign to tackle farm crime and thefts has been launched. Since 2010, over 28,642 farm related crime incidents have been reported to Garda, including burglaries and vehicle, machinery and equipment theft, according to the latest CSO figures.
