Garda Hunt Man Following Attempted Armed Robbery
Gardaí are searching for a man in connection with the attempted armed robbery of an Ulster Bank in Blackpool, County Cork.
According to reports, a man entered the branch and produced a knife. He threatened staff with the knife and demanded cash.
It is understood that a bank teller gave the man a special cash bundle containing a dye pack.
As the man tried to flee the scene, the dye pack exploded, covering the suspect in a bright purple dye. His clothes and hands are thought to have been covered in dye as he fled in the direction of Sprig Lane.
There are no reports of any injuries.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Publican's Body Found
The body of a public house owner in Co Offaly has been discovered in suspicious circumstances. Officers are investigating after the discovery of the man who was in his 60s at 7.30am on Wednesday. The body was discovered by a member of the man's family, at a public house owned by the dead man in Daingean, Co.Offaly.
