Longford County Council Announces Road Closures

Longford County Council has announced temporary road closures between Edgeworthstone and Granard between 24 August and 04 September, 2015.

The closure is to allow bridge replacement works on the N55 at Ardagullion and Cartron.

Diversions will be signposted and local access will be maintained at all times, the council said.

Ireland's Transport System To Be Overhauled
Greater Dublin's public transport system is to be overhauled following the announcement of a new Public Transport Bill to end the 77-year-old method for licensing public transport routes. Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey announced the proposal for the new authority today, which will be known as the Dublin Transport Authority (DTA).

No Water For South Dublin Homes
Households in South Dublin have gone without a water supply since Monday morning. Residents of the Stepaside and Sandyford area, including Stepaside Park, The Rectory, Blackglen Road, Aitkins village, Wingfield, Lambs Cross, Cairnfort and Cruagh Wood have experienced low water pressure sine the bank holiday weekend.

The London based multi-national has revealed that most of the iconic St James' Gate facility is to be sold for development, valued at around €3 billion at the height of the property boom.
