Investigation Launched Into Armed Robbery In Co Meath

An investigation has been launched following an armed robbery at a shop in Kildalkey, Co Meath

At approximately 17:45 on Thursday, two males entered a shop armed with a hand gun and an iron bar. They threatened staff and removed an amount of cash before leaving the store.

It is understood they were driven from the scene in a waiting car. No shots were fired and none of the staff were physically injured during the incident.

During a follow up operation, involving Gardaí from the Meath Division and Regional Support Unit, a 24-year-old male was arrested in Navan shortly after midnight. He is currently being detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at Trim Garda Station. A car was seized by Gardaí during the arrest operation.

The investigation is ongoing.

Two Males Arrested Following Armed Robbery
Two males have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a chemist in Dublin. Two men, believed to have been armed with handguns, entered the premises at approximately 8.30pm on Tuesday night. Two members of staff were threatened, and one received minor injuries. The robbers took a watch from one of the staff members and fled the scene.

Four Girls In Hospital After Aerosol Explosion
Garda are investigating the circumstances surrounding four girls ending up in hospital after an aerosol exploded in a house in Drogheda on Sunday. The girls are being treated in hospital, two in Crumlin's children's hospital and two in Tallaght, following the incident. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Two Die In Co Meath House Fire
Two people have died in a house fire in Co Meath, Gardaí have confirmed. It is understood the bodies of a man and a woman were found following a fire at a house in Heenogue, Duleek on Monday morning. The victims are believed to have been the residents of the house.

Murder Investigation Launched Into Body Found In Co Meath
Gardaí in Co Meath have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a man's body in a field. The body of Paul Gallagher (26) was found at about 17:00 on Wednesday. Gardaí said that he had been shot several times. The body was removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda. A post-mortem is to be carried out today.
