Newbridge Silverware Reveals Naomi Campbell As New Face Of Its Brand

Newbridge Silverware, based in Co Kildare, has announced international supermodel Naomi Campbell as the new face of its brand.

Ms Campbell will work with Newbridge Silverware to launch its 'little blue box' campaign and to promote its new and existing collections over the next two years. She will feature in all press advertisements for the company which have been shot in Ireland by Irish photographer Barry McCall.

The new campaign will focus on the surprise and delight of giving or receiving a gift in the Newbridge Silverware blue box no matter what the occasion.

William Doyle, CEO, Newbridge Silverware, said: "Our new campaign will focus on the joy of giving or receiving a gift from Newbridge Silverware. It doesn't matter what the occasion is, when you receive a gift in our famous blue box, be it homeware or jewellery, you know it will be something special."

ILCU Allays Members' Fears
The Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU) has issued a statement in relation to Newbridge Credit Union. Over the weekend, it was announced that Newbridge Credit Union had been transferred to Permanent TSB, but ILCU has since reassured its members that credit unions remain strong and secure.

Priest And Former Headmaster Jailed For Sexual Abuse
A 66-year-old Dominican priest and former headmaster has been jailed for three years for the sexual assault of a boy. Fr Vincent Mercer pleaded guilty at Cork Circuit Criminal Court to 15 sample counts of sexually assaulting the boy on various dates between 1986 and 1994. The boy was aged 11 when the abuse started.

Five Held After Discovery Of Industrial Cannabis Grow Houses
Five people have been arrested after gardaí discovered four industrial-style cannabis grow houses in counties Kildare, Mayo, Louth and Waterford on Wednesday. The Garda raid was the latest under Operation Nitrogen, which was set up to investigate all aspects of cannabis cultivation.

Irishtown Road Rage Victim Dies
The 49-year-old motorist involved in an alleged road rage incident in Irishtown in Dublin has died from his injuries. The man was hospitalized after having sustained head injuries in the course of an incident, during which another man beat him over the head with a hurley.
