Thirty New Jobs Announced For Tullamore
Thirty new jobs are to be created in Tullamore, Co Offaly, by veterinary biologics developer, Nexvet Biopharma.
The company is to establish a new section of its business under the name BioNua Ltd, which will be based in premises previously occupied by Genemedix
Welcoming the news, Fine Gael TD for Laois/Offaly, Marcella Corcoran Kennedy, said: "The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton, along with the IDA have worked closed with BioNua to provide them with this premises which is ready to go. The BioNua Ltd site is already equipped with cGMP grade clean rooms, water for injection, purified water, and clean steam generation systems, as well as analytical and development laboratories.
"This new company will provide 30 high quality jobs in the Tullamore area over the next year and I have no doubt that it will also have a positive impact in boosting other local businesses and also by highlighting Tullamore as an excellent location for this kind of company.
"BioNua Limited will pay €1.75 million to secure the manufacturing assets within the facility and they have made clear their commitment to this area by entering into a 10-year lease on the facility, with an option to purchase the building.
"I have been liaising with Nexvet Biopharma for some time now. I have arranged meetings with the IDA and with Minister Bruton in the hope that this company would come into being in Offaly. I am delighted that the hard work of all those involved has paid off.
"Tullamore is a perfect location for Nexvet Biopharma because the existing building means that there are no regulatory uncertainties. Securing this facility will significantly lower the company’s development expenses and ultimately the cost of goods.
"Ireland is fast becoming a hub for biopharma developers and manufacturers, I see no reason why Tullamore can’t become one of the key locations for this growing business. Today’s news is a great boost to Tullamore and for the Midlands, where the Regional Action Plan for Jobs is now in action and working to capitalise on the strengths of the region. Offaly has a lot to offer the economy and I am extremely hopeful of further growth."
