Gardaí Renew Appeal To Identify Body Found In Galway

Gardaí in Galway have renewed an appeal for help in identifying a man who was found dead on 27 September 2014.

The man's body was found in Rusheen Woods near Barna on the evening of Saturday, 27 September, one year ago.

His death was not treated as suspicious, but garda have not been able to identify the man.

The male was described as being between 30 and 40 years of age, approximately 6 foot tall with black hair. He is said to have had a broad/strong build and was wearing a gold bracelet watch - Caravelle by Bulova – at the time of his death.

Missing Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 24-year-old man has been found "safe and well". Alex Sherwin had been reported missing on Sunday, with garda issuing a public appeal for assistance. No information on Mr Sherwin's whereabouts have been released, but garda said the investigation had now ended. They thanked the public for their help.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

27-Year-Old Man Dies In Co Cork Road Crash
Gardaí have confirmed the death of a 27-year-old man in a road crash in Co Cork. The man was killed when his car left the road and hit a ditch sometime between 12:30 and 03:20 on Tuesday morning, in Youghal. His body was taken to Cork University Hospital and a forensic examination of the crash site is underway. Diversions are in place.

Two Held In Human Trafficking Investigation
Two people have been arrested following planned Garda searches in Dublin, Dundalk and Athlone as part of Operation Quest. The man and woman are being questioned as part of an investigation into human trafficking. They are being held in Clondalkin Garda Station.

Still No ID On Body Discovered In June
Almost a month after the discovery of a body, Gardaí are still struggling to positively 'ID' the victim. Officers in Sligo have therefore re-launched an appeal to identify the male whose body was found at Rosses Point Beach on 16 June.
