Irish Water Reports Significant Increase In Calls

Irish Water has reported a significant increase in calls this week and is urging customers to use either the automated payment option, the over-the-counter payment option or to use its online account management to pay bills and manage accounts online.

Significant numbers of customers are also contacting Irish Water to find out their account number to allow them to apply for the Department of Environment's Water Conservation Grant that is being administered by the Department of Social Protection.

Eamon Gallen, Head of Customer Operations at Irish Water, said: "Call volumes increased significantly at the call centre last week and we have increased our staffing to deal with these extra queries.

"Any customers who are trying to contact us to find out their account number to apply for the water conservation grant should check either of the two bills they have received to date as the account number is printed on top of each bill."
