Final Day To Apply For Water Conservation Grant
The deadline to apply for the €100 Water Conservation Grant is tonight, 08 October.
The Department of Social Protection is providing an additional phone lines for people to contact with enquiries regarding their applications for the grant.
The helpline will remain open until midnight.
Over 726,00 householders have applied for the Water Conservation Grant.

Irish Water has reported a significant increase in calls this week and is urging customers to use either the automated payment option, the over-the-counter payment option or to use its online account management to pay bills and manage accounts online.

Eurostat Report 'Major Blow' To Government
Reports that Eurostat rejected a plan to keep Irish Water "off balance sheet", has been described as a "major blow" to the government. Sinn Féin finance spokesperson, Pearse Doherty, made the comments, and added that the government’s argument against his party's plan to abolish Irish Water was now gone.

Deadline For Water Conservation Grants Extended
The deadline for Water Conservation Grant applications has been extended until Thursday, 22 October. The extension was made due to the high volume of calls and applications, and issues that arose concerning the postal delays earlier this week.

Water Conservation Orders Lifted As Rainfall Increases
Irish Water has announced the water conservation orders have been lifted in the Southern, Eastern and Midlands regions. The areas that have had their order lifted include: Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Cork, Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Laois, Offaly, Wicklow, Meath, Westmeath, Louth and Dublin.
