US Tech Firm To Create 130 Jobs In Dublin And Cork
A US technology firm is to create 130 jobs in Dublin and Cork as part of a €100m investment plan.
Pivotal, which makes software to help companies build cloud-based data and analytics applications, is set to open new offices in Dublin and Cork, creating the new jobs over the next five years.
The investment is being supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through the IDA, and has been welcomed by the government.

Galway Firm To Create 100 New Jobs
A shed manufacturing company is to create 100 new jobs in Tuam, Co Galway. Steeltech Sheds is to relocate its business from Headford Road in Galway to the former Coca-Cola factory in Tuam and will recruit new staff between now and 2017. The company currently employs 100 staff at bases in Cork, Dublin, Carlow and Athlone.

Met Éireann Issues Weather Warning
A weather warning has been issued by Met Éireann and will be in place for most of the day (Friday). The yellow warning comes as up to 40mm of rain is due to fall today, with winds also reaching gale force. Rain is expected to move southeastwards throughout the day and will be heavy in places.

Nine new schools are to be opened in Counties Cork, Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare over the next two year. Local Education and Training Boards, the Catholic Church and multi-denominational education body Educate Together will run the schools.

One hundred and thirty new jobs are to be created at three sites in Dublin and Cork, by pharmaceutical firm, Pfizer. A recruitment drive is underway for the jobs, which will be based at Grange Castle in Dublin, and Little Island and Ringskiddy in Cork.

Fifty new jobs are to be created by recruitment agency Sigmar at offices in Dublin, Cork and Galway. Over the next 18 months, the company will hire staff to fill roles within the firm, mostly recruiters, it is understood.
