Six Arrested In Connection With March Murder Investigation

Three men and three woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of Silvestras Stoskus in March this year.

The six suspects, aged between 20 and 40, are currently being detained at Lucan, Naas, Athlone and Mullingar Garda Stations, under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 and Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended.

Silvestras Stoskus' body was discovered in Broadford, County Kildare on the 18 March 2015. He had been missing from his home at Bun Daire, Kinnegad, County Westmeath since 8 March 2015.

Gardaí at Leixlip began a murder investigation following a post mortem which was carried out by the State Pathologist.

Arrests Made Over McMahon Murder Investigation
Three arrests have been made following an investigation into the murder of Seamus McMahon. Two males, in their 20s, and one female in her late teems were arrested in the Drogheda area this morning. They are currently being detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at Drogheda and Dundalk stations.

Three Further Arrests Over Inchicore Murder
Gardai have made three further arrests in relation to the murder David Byrne on the 19th March 2011. Three males all aged in their late teens were arrested this morning and are currently detained at Garda Stations in the south inner city.

Man Charged With Theft And Fraud Offences In Cork
A 45-year-old man has appeared in court charged in connection with a number of theft and fraud offences in Cork City. An investigation began in 2014 after Gardaí received a complaint against the suspect. The man was originally arrested on 10 December 2015 regarding offences under the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001.

Two Gardaí Officers Secure International Honour
Two Gardaí officers have been honoured by Spanish police for their work helping tackle organised crime in Spain. Detective Superintendent Seamus Boland of the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) within Special Crime Operations and a Garda Liaison Officer visited Mallorca to receive the honour by the Guardia Civil.
