130 New Jobs Announced For Dublin And Cork
One hundred and thirty new jobs are to be created at three sites in Dublin and Cork, by pharmaceutical firm, Pfizer.
A recruitment drive is underway for the jobs, which will be based at Grange Castle in Dublin, and Little Island and Ringskiddy in Cork.
Welcoming the announcement Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton said: "A key part of our Action Plan for Jobs has been attracting companies into Ireland through the IDA's work and ensuring that every region in the country benefits from job creation. Pfizer with six sites in Ireland has been in Ireland since 1969 and has expanded with the support of my Department through IDA. I welcome Pfizer's announcement today that it is recruiting in Dublin and Cork and I wish them every success for the future."
Dr Paul Duffy, Vice President, Pfizer added: "Pharmaceutical manufacturing in Ireland continues to perform well contributing strongly to exports and economic growth, and providing good careers and jobs. Students should give strong consideration to studying STEM subjects all of which provide a route into pharmaceutical manufacturing. This provides a good career path but also provides a chance to be part of delivering innovative medicines to patients to help treat devastating diseases.
"Pfizer is one of Ireland's leading employers and economic contributors. Our sites in Ireland manufacture some of Pfizer's leading and newest medicines for export globally."
Grange Castle based in West Dublin is looking to recruit across multiple functions including process scientists; process/equipment engineers; automation engineers; operations specialists; process technicians; quality analysts and project managers.
The Ringaskiddy and Little Island sites also have recruitment activity underway to fill over 40 positions in Cork. These roles include process operators, mechanical & electrical/instrumentation craft, process engineers, process chemists, and quality control analysts.
