Appeal Issued After IED Left At Garda Officers Home
Crimestoppers have appealed for information following the discovery of an improvised explosive device (IED) outside the home of a garda officer in Drumlish, Co Leitrim.
The IED was left outside front door of member of An Garda Síochán's home on Thursday, 17 April, 2014.
Detective Inspector James Delaney said: "We are appealing to anyone with information on this very serious matter to come forward. This was a viable improvised explosive device and could have resulted in death or serious injury to the residents of the house it was left outside or members of the Drumlish community."
"We believe that there are persons out there that have information that would be beneficial to the case. Perhaps you were aware of suspicious activity in the run up to or on Thursday 17th April last year and thought nothing of it at the time? Even the smallest piece of information, which may seem insignificant, might help with the investigation."
"Crucially, calls to Crimestoppers are completely anonymous, so callers can give information on a crime without needing to provide their personal details. Anybody with information can call Crimestoppers on 1800 25 00 25."
Calls to Crimestoppers are anonymous. Callers do not need to leave their name or address. You may receive a reward for information which significantly the investigation.

9,500 Calls Made To National Poisons Centre
The National Poisons Information Centre at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, have said the received 9,500 calls last year. The newly released figures suggest that 46% of calls concerned children under the age of five, with medicines and household products being the main items involved in the queries.
