Two Arrested Following Attack And House Fire In Co Offaly
Two people have been arrested in connection with an attack and a house fire in Co Offaly in September.
A 17-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man were arrested in Westmeath and Offaly on Monday, after a 24-year-old man was attacked and a house set on fire in Rhode.
The man sustained extensive burn injuries and also had many stab wounds.
The two suspects are being detained at Tullamore and Mullingar Garda Station.
Garda are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Dublin Fire Brigade has revealed it responded to 1,100 emergency calls during Halloween night. On what is normally the service's busiest night of the year, there were also reports of attacks on fire crews while Dublin Bus was forced to withdraw its service in part of the city.

Mountjoy Prison Cell Fire
A fire broke out in a cell at Dublin's Mountjoy Prison on Thursday night, according to reports. It is understood that a prisoner had set fire to a cell. However, it is believed that prison staff and fire crews were able to contain the fire quickly. No-one was injured in the incident.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Catherine Gowing Murder Accused Remanded Until January
A man accused of murdering missing Offaly woman Catherine Gowing has appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court in Wales by video link from Altcourse prison in Liverpool. 46-year-old Clive Sharp spoke just to confirm his name and that he understood the proceedings. The case was adjourned until 7 January 2013, when Mr Sharp will be asked to enter a plea.
