Weather Warnings Issued Ahead Of Storm Barney
Two weather warnings are currently in place across Ireland as Storm Barney arrives.
A Status Orange, "Be Prepared", wind warning has been issued for Dublin, Wicklow, Galway, Clare, Kerry and Limerick.
Winds are expected to reach speeds of up to 75km/h, with gusts expected to reach 100-125km/h.
The warning was issued at 21:00 on Monday and remains in place for 24 hours, when it will be reviewed.
There is also a Status Yellow, "Be Aware", warning is in place for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford
West to southwest winds are expected to reach speeds of 55 to 65 km/h, with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h during Tuesday afternoon.

Storm Erik has slowed travel across the country today, Friday 08 February, with weather warnings in place until this afternoon. While a yellow alert is in force across the board, an orange warning is currently valid for counties Galway, Mayo and Donegal with the potential for wind gusts of up to 120km/h.

Met Éireann Issues Orange And Yellow Weather Warnings
Met Éireann has issued a series of weather warnings due to forecasted wind, snow and ice. A status orange wind warning is in place for Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick. It is predicted wind with speeds of 65 to 75km/h will occur, with gusts of 110 to 130km/h at times overnight in exposed areas, especially around coastal regions.

Wind Farm Academy To Boost Donegal
A National Wind Energy Academy is being established at Letterkenny Institute of Technology as part of a €500,000 initiative being backed by the Donegal County Development Board. The first phase will see the development of a wind turbine maintenance programme which will be delivered in conjunction with BZEE, a German centre for renewable energy.

Status Yellow Wind Warning Issued
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for nine counties across the country. The warning was issued on Sunday at 14:00, but remains in place until 21:00, when it will be reviewed. Winds of 45-55 km/h with gusts between 90 and 100 km/h.
