Dublin Port Tunnel Closed Following Accident
The Dublin Port Tunnel is currently closed following a road traffic collision early on Friday morning.
It is understood a truck has overturned in the north bore tunnel, and emergency services are using the south bore tunnel to access the scene.
The 5 axle ban for Dublin City has been lifted due to the Port Tunnel collision.
The tunnels are expected to be closed for a number of hours.

Major Delays Expected After Port Tunnel Fire
Ongoing traffic delays are expected in Dublin following a vehicle fire inside the northbound bore of the Port Tunnel. According to reports the tunnel remains closed in both directions after a a fire on Friday morning. It is understood a man is being treated in hospital following the incident, but there are no details on his condition.

Blaze-Hit Dublin Port Tunnel Reopens
A fire in the Dublin Port Tunnel has forced the closure of the crucial tunnel in both directions early this morning. Although both lanes have since been reopened, traffic remains very heavy in the area and gardaí have appealed to motorists to use alternative routes.

Port Tunnel Fan Replacement To Cost €850k
Fans used to clean the air in Dublin Port Tunnel are to be replaced at a cost of €850,000, after just one year. The contractor is to pay to replace the turbo-jet fans but has denied any responsibility for a host of other faults - including the €30 million Scada electronics management system that is failing to control the fans.

Port Tunnel Shut
The Dublin Port Tunnel was temporarily closed to all traffic after a truck caught fire in the facility this afternoon. The normal HGV ban for traffic in the city centre was lifted shortly after the closure, which happened at around 12.30pm. The emergency services were at the scene this afternoon, but no injuries have been reported.
