Garda Killer Who Stabbed Wife With A Steak Knife To Be Sentenced

Garda killer Pearse McAuley who stabbed his wife 13 times in front of their children on Christmas Eve last year is to be sentenced today.

Mr McAuley from Tyrone previously spent ten years behind bars for the manslaughter of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe in Limerick in 1996.

It also emerged that he had used a steak knife during the attack.

He admitted attacking his wife and threatening to kill her brother.

Pearse McAuley Jailed For Stabbing Ex Wife
Garda killer Pearse McAuley has been sentenced to 12 years, the last four years suspended, for stabbing his ex wife with a steak knife in front of their children. McAuley, from Co Tyrone, stabbed his estranged wife 13 times on Christmas Eve last year. He also pleaded guilty to a number of other charges and admitted threatening to kill her brother.

Killer Sentenced For Wife's Murder
A 46-year-old man has been sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty of murdering his wife - twice. Anton Mulder was found guilty at Dublin's Central Criminal Court on Thursday of the murder of his wife Colleen shortly before Christmas 2004 .

Man Questioned Over Dublin Stabbing
A man is being questioned after a man was found stabbed to death at a house in Co Dublin. Michael Gannon, 55, was attacked in his daughter's home at Mourne Park, Skerries, on Thursday evening. It is understood he was babysitting his two grandchildren at the time. The attack happened shortly before 6pm.
