Preferred Tenderer Selected To Build Five Schools
The Inspired Spaces Consortium has been selected as the preferred tenderer to develop five new schools in Ireland.
The schools have been included in Bundle 5 of the Department's Public Private Partnership (PPP) programme.
Construction work on the schools is expected to begin in the summer next year.
Under the PPP model, the schools will be designed, built, financed and maintained for 25 years by the Inspired Spaces Consortium.
The Schools Bundle 5 PPP programme will consist of five schools on four sites in counties Carlow, Wexford, Wicklow and Meath.
The schools included are:
• Tyndall College Campus in Carlow will consist of a development that will provide accommodation for over 2,000 post primary and further education students
• Loreto College, Wexford will be a replacement Post Primary School and will provide 900 pupil places
• Colaiste Raithín, Bray, Co Wicklow will be a replacement Post Primary school and will provide 450 pupil places
• St Philomena's National School, Bray, Co Wicklow will be a replacement 24 classroom Primary School with SNU. Both Colaiste Raithín and St Philomena's NS will be constructed on a single new site in Bray.
• Eureka Secondary School, Kells, Co Meath will be a replacement Post Primary School and will provide 800 pupil places.

Up To 40 New Schools To Be Established In Six Years
Twenty new primary schools and twenty new post-primary schools are to be established in the next six years. Announcing the new schools, the Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn said: "My Department is forecasting an increase of over 45,050 primary pupils and 24,900 post-primary pupils by the start of the 2017/18 school year.
