Fatal Road Accident In Co Kildare

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident at Nurney, Co Kildare on Wednesday.

A motorcycle collided with a van at about 18:15 on the Nurney to Kildare Road close to Walterstown Cross.

The 25-year-old male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to the morgue at Naas hospital, where a post mortem is expected to take place tomorrow, 09 December. The driver and passenger (both male) of the van were uninjured. The road is closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.

Drugs Worth €900,000 Seized In Athy
A man has been arrested after €900,000 worth of drugs were seized by garda in Athy. The operation, on a growhouse in the area, is believed to have taken place in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The man is being questioned at Kildare Town Garda Station.

Man Killed In Collision In Maynooth, Co Kildare
A 38-year-old man has been killed in a single vehicle road traffic collision at Ladychapel, Maynooth, Co Kildare. The man was fatally injured when his 4x4 vehicle collided with a ditch at about 3.15pm on Monday. A female passenger in the vehicle remains in Naas General Hospital, but it is understood that she suffered minor injuries.

Shots Fired At House In Limerick City
Gardaí in Limerick have arrested two men in connection with a shooting in the city. It is understood that shots were fired at a house in the New Road area at about 20:00 on Tuesday night. A 22-year-old woman and two teenage boys who were in the house at the time, escaped without injury.

Man Arrested In Connection With Dublin Shooting Incident
Gardaí investigating a shooting incident outside a west Dublin school have made an arrest. A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested during the course of the search operation in Corduff. He has been detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, where he can be held for up to 72 hours.

Man Arrested Over Gun And Ammunition Seizure
A 24-year-old man has been arrested in an operation targeting organised criminal gangs in the Crumlin area of Dublin. Gardaí from Sundrive Road Garda Station arrested the man on Tuesday, 12 July, shortly after 9pm when they stopped and searched a car and its occupant close to Old County Road and discovered a firearm and ammunition.
