Gardaí Launches Investigation After Post Office Robbery In Dublin
Gardaí have launched an investigation after a post office was robbed in Dublin.
The incident occurred at Roebuck Post Office on Farmhill Road yesterday, 05 January.
It is understood two armed men entered the post office in Goatstown at around 9:30am.
One of the men fired shots which shattered the glass partition at the customer counter. He jumped over the counter and took a sum of cash.
The second suspect took a small amount of money from another cash register.
Two women staff members were uninjured during the incident.
Both suspects fled the scene in a stolen blue Subaru Impreza via Farmhill Road/Larchfield Park. The car was later found close to Mount Carmel Road in Goatstown.
The first suspect is described as being approximately 5'10" tall, wearing a black balaclava, a black woolly hat, a jacket which was navy on the top half and black on the bottom, dark coloured trousers and dark footwear. He also wore orange coloured kitchen gloves.
The second suspect is described as being 5'6" tall, wearing an all grey coloured tracksuit with a blue t-shirt underneath, black and white runners and black gloves.
An incident room has been established at Dundrum Garda Station and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

Govt Accused of Undermining Post Office Network
The government has been accused of continuing to undermine the Post Office network across Ireland. Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Communications Michael Moynihan made the comments after the Department of Social Protection issued letters to jobseekers recommending that they bypass Post Offices by using financial institutions to receive their payments.
