Five Hundred New Jobs Announced In Co Clare
Fine Gael have welcomed the announcement of 500 new jobs in Clare by healthcare recruitment company, TTM.
TD for Clare and Chairman of the Oireachtas Foreign Affairs Committee, Pat Breen, said the announcement was "very good news" for the region.
"Clare based healthcare recruitment company TTM has announced the creation of 500 new jobs over the next five years. This is extremely good news for the people of Co. Clare," Deputy Breen said.
"TTM recruit specialist healthcare professionals in both Ireland and the UK and it is understood that the majority of the 500 new roles will be based in the firm's headquarters in Ennis.
"TTM currently employs 1,200 people and has a turnover of over €50 million. The healthcare firm is looking to triple its revenues and double its workforce over the next five years.
"Rapid growth has taken place for TTM in recent years and the company now has confidence to invest even more in their future in Co. Clare.
"An investment of this level is a massive vote of confidence in the workforce of the region, as well as the facilities available.
"TTM's announcement brings vital jobs to the Clare region and I am hopeful that more jobs can be created in this area in the coming years.

Further Weather Warning Issued

Met Eireann has issued a status orange wind warning for the south and southwest of Ireland, taking in counties Wexford, Galway, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Waterford. This is in addition to a status orange warning for snow and ice in Co Donegal.

46 Confirmed Cases Of Ash Dieback
There are now 46 confirmed cases of ash dieback in the country, the Department of Agriculture has confirmed. 26 cases have been found in forestry plantations in Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Galway, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Longford, Meath, Tipperary and Waterford.

A major tourism development that would have newly expanded an existing rail museum in West Clare has been rejected by An Bord Pleanála. The official body said that plans for the road and rail were turned down on road safety grounds.
