Man Arrested Over Early Morning Burglaries In Limerick City
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries in Limerick City.
It is understood that a number of burglaries where reported in the Athlunkard Street area of the city between 07:50 and 08:15 on the morning on Monday 25 January.
Gardaí responded to reports and arrested the man close to the scene.
He is currently being detained at Mayorstone Park Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Man Dies In Kilkenny House Fire
An elderly man has died in a fire at a house in Kilkenny city, early this on Wednesday morning. The fire broke out at around 4.20am. Four other people were in the house also, but it is understood that they escaped injury. Gardaí are investigating the incident and have preserved the scene for examination.

Missing Cork Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

A man in his 20s has been charged following a spate of burglaries in Limerick and Tipperary. A pair were arrested and two vehicles seized following eight break-ins in the early hours of Wednesday 15 January.

A 28-year-old man has been charged in connection with a spate of burglaries in Co Offaly. The incidents happened in the Birr area between 9am and 10am on Monday. The suspect is expected to appear at Portlaoise District Court on Tuesday. As part of Operation Thor, gardaí arrested the man near the scene of an aggravated burglary.
