Man Arrested Over Hatchet Robbery

A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Tralee, Co Kerry, on Thursday.

It is understood a man, armed with a hatchet, threatened staff at a petrol station in Rathass, before making off on foot across Rathass Graveyard.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Gardaí responding to reports of the incident came upon a man fitting the description close to Fountain Court, Tralee. The man in his 40s, was arrested and is currently being detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Tralee Garda Station.

In a follow up search of the area, money, a hatchet and clothing were recovered by Gardai.

Man Armed With Hatchet Arrested Over Aggravated Burglary
A 20year-old man has been arrested in Waterford in connection with an aggravated burglary. According to garda the man was found at a house in the Abbeyside area of Dungarvan, Co Waterford. Garda say that the man was armed with a hatchet. Garda had responded to a report of suspicious activity in the area.

A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
