Sinn Féin Accuse An Taoiseach Of 'Scare Tactics'
An Taoiseach Enda Kenny has been accused of "scare tactics" following a speech he made in Dundalk on Tuesday.
Speaking in Dundalk, Mr Kenny said a new Government "would bring economic instability".
Criticising the Taoiseach, Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams said: "Enda Kenny's scare tactics are a product of the advice given to Fine Gael by the British Tory party's election strategists recently".
Deputy Adams continued: "Fine Gael and Labour started this campaign on the back foot by producing dodgy figures and making election promises they know can't be delivered.
"They are now scrambling for credibility and in its absence, have resorted to scare tactics that won't work to try and imply an alternative Government would bring instability, despite the outgoing Government causing chaos in the lives of ordinary working families and citizens.
"It is now time for new, progressive politics in Ireland and Sinn Féin is leading the charge to lead a new government under the Right2Change principles.
"We have outlined our vision, backed by clear, comprehensive, costed and deliverable policies that will grow the economy in a sustainable and fair manner that benefits all of our citizens."

At Least 900 Pig Factory Workers Laid Off
One of Ireland's main unions has revealed that around 900 workers have been laid off at four pig-meat plants in Offaly, Leitrim and Tipperary this morning. The job cuts are a result of the dioxin contamination scare, which has led to a mass recall of pork products produced before 7 December.

175 New Jobs Announced For Galway
One hundred and seventy five new jobs are to be created by a pharmaceuticals company in Galway. Chanelle is to invest €70 million in expanding its manufacturing capacity and in its Research and Development facilities. The jobs are to be created over the next five years at the companies headquarters in Loughrea, Co Galway.

120 New Jobs Announced In Cork
One hundred and twenty new jobs have been created by technology firm Xanadu in Cork. Taoiseach Enda Kenny visited the firm's headquarters in Blackpool to announce the jobs. The firm, established in 2011, provides technical support to its clients.

The government has been urged to end its support of the horse and greyhound racing industry until "sufficient reform is implemented". Making the call, Sinn Fein spokesperson on Agriculture, Food and Marine expressed concern at the amount of public money being given to the industry.
