Witnesses Sought To Fatal Co Mayo Road Accident
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident in Co Mayo on Friday, 19 February.
A man aged in his 30s died when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with two articulated trucks on the N5 Knockbrack – main Castlebar to Dublin Rd - at around 5pm.
Both male truck drivers were treated at Mayo General Hospital for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses are asked to contact Claremorris Garda Station on 094 9372080, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Garda have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road accident in Ballina, Co Mayo. A 70-year-old woman was walking on Emmet Street at 21:15 on Thursday night when she was hit by a car. She was taken to Mayo General Hospital before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. She was later then returned to Castlebar.

Roscommon County Council has granted planning permission for the development of an ambulance base at a former garda station in Loughglynn. Fine Gael TD for Roscommon/South Leitrim, Frank Feighan said: "I welcome the news that the HSE has now got formal planning to develop this long awaited ambulance base.

A 45-year-old pedestrian died after he was hit by a car at Grallagh shortly before midnight on 16 December. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Mayo General Hospital for Post Mortem examination.

The budget of the flood relief scheme is €2 million short of what is needed, Fianna Fáil has said. TD for Mayo Dara Calleary said that new information released through Parliamentary Questions reveals that €5m has been allocated for road repairs and upgrades, despite Mayo County Council submitting a request to the Department of Transport of over €7.

Garda Ombudsman Appeal For Witnesses After Man's Death
The Garda Ombudsman is appealing for witnesses after a man died after being arrested in Co Mayo. Paraic O'Donnell, 39, from Achill Sound in Co Mayo, was arrested at Cox's when Gardaí were called to an incident at the late bar around 1am. Mr O’Donnell was taken away by gardaí in a car, and subsequently died.
