Supreme Court Judge Adrian Hardiman Dies
Supreme Court judge Adrian Hardiman has died suddenly at his home in Dublin.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny said he was shocked to hear the news of his death.
He said: "Adrian had a long and illustrious legal career and was one of the great minds of our time. As well as his enormous contribution to our judicial system, he had a love of our language, a huge interest in history and politics and was also a published writer and broadcaster.
"Most importantly, Adrian was also a much loved husband and father, and to his wife Yvonne Murphy and children, I extend my sincere condolences and those of my Government and the Irish people."

Australian Mayor Pays Tribute To Murder Victim Jill Meagher
The Australian mayor has expressed his condolence to the family of Irish woman Jill Meagher who was murdered in Melbourne last September. Oscar Yildiz arrived in the Republic of Ireland today and is due to attend a commemoration ceremony later this week. Ms Meagher, originally from Drogehda, moved to Australia in 2009 with her husband.

PSNI Serious Crime Branch officers assisting with the investigation into the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe in January are continuing with their inquiries into the shooting. Gardai are investigating the murder of D/Garda Donohoe, which occurred on Friday 25 January at Bellurgan, near Dundalk.

AJI Issue Statement Of Support In Row Over Judicial Independence
Comments on judicial independence, made by Mr Justice Peter Kelly have been backed by the Association of Judges of Ireland (AJI). Supreme Court Judge Justice Adrian Hardiman said it would be unwise not to be aware that Justice Kelly, as president of the association of judges, speaks for judges and is in a position to do so.
