Cocaine Seized In Portlaoise

A quantity of cocaine worth an estimated €35,000 has been seized by Revenue Officers in a joint operation with Gardaí in Portlaoise.

The drugs were discovered during the search of a house in Portlaoise where a 38-year-old female was arrested.

The woman was detained at Portlaoise Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Investigations are continuing.

Man Arrested Following Cocaine Seizure
A man has been arrested after cocaine was seized from a vehicle during a traffic stop in Dublin. The 36-year-old suspect was detained on the Tallaght By-Pass at approximately 6.15pm on 27 November. The drugs have an estimated value of €770,000.

Drugs Seized At Portlaoise Mails Centre
Drugs worth €27,000 have been seized by Revenue officers at Portlaoise Mails Centre. Following routine profiling, 54kgs of khat was seized by officers from a number of parcels originating from Ethiopia and Kenya. The parcels, some of which were declared as 'clothing', were destined for various addresses in Dublin City.

Man Dies In Co Laois Road Crash
Gardaí in Co Laois have reported the death of a 47-year-old following a road crash on the M7 Dublin-Limerick road. The crash happened near Portlaoise shortly before 10pm on Thursday night. According to gardaí, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was reopened on Friday morning following a technical examination.
