Man Critical Following Clonakilty Road Accident

A man, aged in his 30s, is in a critical condition in hospital following a serious road traffic accident in Clonakilty, Co Cork.

A car and a 4x4 collided two miles east of Togher Village on the Bantry to Crookestown Rd, known locally as Bantry Line, at approximately 17:30 on Wednesday.

The male driver of the car was seriously injured and airlifted to Cork University Hospital (CUH) where his condition has been described as critical. The male driver of the 4x4 was also taken to CUH, however his injuries are described as non life threatening. There was no one else in either vehicles.

The road has been closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and diversions have been put in place.

18-Year-Old Cyclist Killed In Road Accident In Co Cork
Gardaí in Co Cork have appealed for witnesses following the death of an 18-year-old male cyclist. The male teenager was seriously injured when he collided with a car at Barley Hill on the Clonakilty to Skibbereen Road at about 19:00 on Tuesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Cork University Hospital.

Gardaí in Cork are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision at Dunmanway. A 68-year-old man has died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a ditch at about 11:10am at Cousana, on the Kealkil to Coppeen Road (R585), on Thursday.

Gardaí Hunt For Two Missing Females
Separate searches have been announced in connection with the disappearance of two females in the past week. In the latest disappearance, Gardaí at Sundrive Road, Dublin, said they are seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 62-year-old Pauline Behan from Rafters Road, Dublin. Pauline was last seen at 4pm on Monday.

Gardaí Appeal To Help Find Missing Cork Man
Gardaí in County Cork are appealing for help in finding a man missing from the area. 56-year-old Peter Oliver has not been seen since Monday 14 December, when he is believed to have been in the Skibbereen area. He is described as being five foot seven inches tall, of medium build with grey hair and brown eyes.
