Three Irish Universities Listed Among Top 150 Young Institutions
Three Irish universities have been ranked as among the top 150 young institutions in the world.
The University of Limerick (UL), the National University of Ireland, Maynooth (NUI Maynooth) and Dublin City University (DCU) were listed in the '150 under 50' by Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking.
The compilation focuses on universities less than 50-years-old. Both NUI Maynooth and DCU made it into the top 100.
Professor Paul McCutcheon at UL said the ranking comes during a period of "increasing international recognition" for the university.
"We are widely recognised for the outstanding student experience we offer to all our students, the excellence of our research and the impact UL is making on our society and our economy," he said
"UL has also recently been ranked 139th out of 800 worldwide institutions based on an international outlook indicator."
Professor Brian MacCraith, President of DCU, added: "This latest league table from Times Higher Education finds DCU in the company of some of the world's cutting-edge young universities who are transforming the face of third level education."
The top three universities were the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland, the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Hong Kong.
