Suspected Explosive Device Found In Car Stopped By Garda
Two men have been arrested following the discovery of a suspected explosive device in a car stopped in Leinster.
Gardaí from the Crime and Security section and the Special Detective Unit, stopped the car on the Naas Road, inbound just before the Long Mile Road junction, at approximately 19:30 on Wednesday evening.
Officers discovered what they believe to be an explosive device and the Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) team was called.
It is understood the device was removed from the scene and is currently being examined.
The suspects are currently being detained at Ballyfermot and Ronanstown Garda station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended.

Viable Explosive Device 'Made Safe'
A viable explosive device has been made safe in Co Cork. According to reports, a controlled explosion was carried out on the device on Friday (13 February). The object was discovered outside a house in the Knocknaheeney area at around 10am this morning. A number of nearby homes were evacuated and roads were closed.

Co Derry Alert Ends As Device Removed
A second security alert in Co Londonderry within 24 hours has been cleared. A crude device was found outside a vacant property on Main Street in Tobermore on Friday morning. It has been suggested that the device may have been thrown at the house but failed to go off. The alert began around 7.

Viable Explosive Device Made Safe In Co Kildare
A viable explosive device has been made safe during a security operation in Co Kildare. Gardaí responded to a report of a suspect device in Leixlip on Monday night. Army bomb disposal experts examined the device and declared it 'viable'. The device was made safe just after midnight.
