Weekend Luas Strike Cancelled
A 48-hour work stoppage planned by Luas drivers this weekend has been "unconditionally cancelled" to facilitate talks aimed at finding a solution to the ongoing pay dispute.
SIPTU Transport, Energy, Aviation and Construction Division Organiser, Owen Reidy, said: "The Luas drivers decided today to unconditionally cancel the 48-hour stoppage scheduled for this weekend in order to create a window for talks with management aimed at finding a resolution to this dispute. This move demonstrates the commitment of these workers to finding an agreed and fair solution to the dispute.
"As well as this move by the drivers the three other grades of Luas workers - traffic supervisors, revenue protection officers and revenue protection supervisors – will meet with the company tomorrow in order to clarify some issues surrounding its revised offer."
He added: "SIPTU has also written to the caretaker Minister for Transport, Paschal Donohoe, requesting an urgent meeting in order to apprise him of our members’ concerns should this dispute continue on indefinitely.
"In order to ensure all our members are kept up to date on the talks process two general meetings of all grades of Luas workers are scheduled to take place in Liberty Hall on Wednesday, 20, and Thursday, 21 April."

Fianna Fáil has restated its call for a special task force to help resolve the ongoing Luas dispute in the interests of the travelling public. The parties spokesperson on Transport, Timmy Dooley, made the comments after writing to Minister for Transport Paschal Donohoe to outline the need for such a task force to be implemented.

SIPTU Luas Drivers Vote To Accept Labour Court Recommendation
Luas driver members of SIPTU have voted to accept a Labour Court recommendation to resolve their dispute with Transdev. The voted was passed by 108 to 56 in a ballot that was counted on Friday, 03 June.

Further Luas Strike Action Announced
SIPTU Luas drivers have served notice of two further 48-hour work stoppages due to take place on 02 – 03 and 23 - 24 April. SIPTU said that the strike action was being taken over Transdev's refusal to engage in negotiations concerning their terms and conditions of employment.

Body Found On Greystones Luas Line
An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man's body on the Luas line between Bray and Greystones yesterday, 20 April. It is understood that the body was found shortly after 7am between Greystones train station and the first tunnel at Bray Head.
