Man's Body Found At Cork Golf Course

The body of a man has been found at a golf club in Co Cork.

It is understood ground staff at the Lee Valley Golf Club found the body in a man-made lake at the course's 12th hole.

Emergency services attended the scene.

The course was later closed as a mark of respect.

It is thought the man, who was a member of the club, was in his mid to late 60s and had been golfing on his own.

Gardaí are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination, but have said they are currently treating the death as a tragic accident.
