Investigation Launched Into Fatal Traffic Collision In Co Kilkenny
Gardaí have launched an investigation into a fatal road traffic collision in Co Kilkenny.
The incident occurred shortly before 4:30pm on the N77 Kilkenny-Ballyragget Road yesterday, 05 May.
An 80-year-old man, who was the driver and sole occupant of one of the cars, suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the second car, a 59-year-old man, received serious injuries and was airlifted to Waterford University Hospital.
His condition is described as stable.
The road was closed to allow forensic investigations but has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

Renewed Appeal Over Murder Of Taxi Driver
Gardaí have renewed an appeal for information on the murder of taxi driver Martin Mulligan. Mr Mulligan (53) was stabbed to death on 28 September following an altercation in Dundalk in Co Louth. It is believed the altercation began over an unpaid taxi fare.

The 45-year-old male driver of a car was killed when his vehicle was in collision with a tanker. The deceased has been removed to University College Hospital Galway.
