Three Men Charged With False Imprisonment And Assault

Three men have been charged in connection with the assault and false imprisonment of a 53-year-old man in Limerick City in September 2015.

The men, aged 32, 33 and 52, were arrested by garda on Wednesday in connection with the incident on 14 September last year.

According to reports the victims feet where nailed to a floor as he was being assaulted.

The men will appear before Limerick District Court charged in connection the incident.

Home-Made Gun Recovered In Limerick
A young man arrested in connection to the discovery of an improvised weapon in Limerick has been released from garda custody. The home-made handgun was recovered by gardai during planned searches in the city yesterday. Four rounds of ammunition were also recovered at a property during the searches in the Garryowen area.

Men Arrested In Connection With Serious Sexual Assault After Concert
Gardaí in Cork have arrested two men in connection with an alleged serious sexual assault, following a Jason Derulo concert in the city. Two women, understood to be aged 18 and 19, reported to garda that they had been seriously sexually assaulted by two men they met in a nearby nightclub, following the concert.

Accused 'Blames Others' In Harte Murder
A police statement has been made on behalf of one of three men accused of the murder of Michaela McAreavey in Mauritius. Raj Theekoy, accused of conspiracy to murder, is said to have implicated two other men charged with murder.
