Death Of 17-Year-Old Following House Party Investigated

An investigation has been launched into the death of 17-year-old boy following a house party last weekend.

It is understood that the boy was found unresponsive shortly after 8am on Monday. He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda. He was pronounced dead a short time after arrival.

Gardaí report that the boy had attended a party in the Claremont Estate in Navan on Sunday, 05 June and returned to the house of a relative afterwards.

It is understood that a post-mortem has been carried out but the investigation is awaiting the results of toxicology tests.

Three Die In Separate House Fires
Two men and a woman have died in three separate house fires in Limerick and Kerry. In the latest incident, a man in his 60s died following a house fire in Tralee in Co Kerry. The fire broke out in the terraced house in Connolly Park at about 9.30pm yesterday. Gardaí were called to the scene at around 9.
