Three Men Arrested After Drugs And Cash Seized In North Dublin
Three men have been arrested afte drugs and cash were seized in north Dublin, as part of ongoing investigations targeting criminal activity in the region.
During the operation a number of vehicles were stopped on the M1 motorway just north of Swords, Co. Dublin, on Monday evening by Gardaí from the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau.
During the operation €350,000 in cash was seized and three men in their 40's were arrested. The cash was in vacuum packs, in a holdall bag.
Follow up searches were conducted in a number of areas, with the assistance of Gardaí from the Dublin Region and Cavan District, resulting in a vacuum packing machine and associated equipment being recovered at an address in Tallaght, Dublin 24 and Zopiclone tablets with a street value in excess of €10,000 being recovered at an address in Baileboro, Co. Cavan.
Two people arrested have been released pending the submission of files to the Director of Public Prosecutions. One remains in custody at Swords Garda Station, detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Cash And Car Seized In Traffic Stop
Gardaí have seized a large amount of cash, a sports car and documentation as part of an operation investigation the Kinahan crime gang. Two men were arrested when gardaí stopped and searched a car, seizing €800,000 in cash. Two men, one from Dublin and one from Sligo, were arrested and questioned on suspicion of money laundering.

Three Arrested In Connection With Burglary In Kildare Town
A teenager and two juveniles have been arrested in connection with a burglary in Kildare Town in the early hours of this morning, 09 August. At approximately 3.30am three males gained entry to a convenience shop on the Dublin Road. They took a quantity of cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene in a car.

Tallaght Hospital has had to get a bank overdraft of €12m in order to continue treating patients for the rest of the year. The major Dublin hospital is getting the money from Allied Irish Banks to carry on after over-spending by more than €10m so far this year.
