Garda Renew Appeal Following Fatal Shooting in Dublin

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information following a fatal shooting in Bridgefoot Street, Dublin 8.

A man aged in his 50s was shot a number of times in an incident at approximately 4:10pm on Friday, 01 July.

He was taken to Saint James' Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

It is believed that a silver/grey coloured Mercedes Benz CLA car, registration number 161D26702, used by the culprits may have been in the general area where the shooting occurred for a period of time prior to the incident.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information, particularly taxi drivers or other motorists who may have camera recording equipment mounted on the dash board or elsewhere on their vehicle and who were in vicinity of Bridgefoot Street, Thomas Street, James' Street, Spitalfields, Carman's Hall and surrounding areas of Dublin 8 between 3:15pm and 4:30pm this afternoon Friday, 01 July 2016, to view any recorded footage they may have and contact Gardaí at Kevin Street Garda Station on 01 6669400, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.

Man Arrested Over Shooting Incident In Co Limerick

Three Men Arrested In Connection With Darren Cogan Murder
Three people are in custody in connection with the murder of Darren Cogan. Mr Cogan, 22, was shot dead in a bar on Tyrconnell Road, Inchicore, two years ago. A man entered the premises on his own and fired a number of shots. Mr Cogan was fatally shot and his pal, who he was drinking with at the time, was also injured in the attack.

Dublin Shooting Investigated
Gardaí are investigating a shooting at a flat in Ballybough, Dublin, which took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Shots were fired at the property just after 2am, but no-one was injured in the incident. The incident is being investigated by Gardaí from Fitzgibbon Street Garda station.

Missing Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A 31-year-old Dublin man missing since 08 September has been found "safe and well", gardaí have reported. Stephen Sherlock was reported missing from the Pearse Street area of Dublin on Tuesday, 08 September. Garda were concerned for his welfare. Ten days after the appeal, garda said Mr Sherlock has been found.
